by Judith Robinson on 06/05/10

Hi Folks,

Sorry I haven't had a chance to blog will be doing it everyother Saturday starting today.

I was asked on May 25th what type of sleeves I decided to use the Past Patterns Modified Pagoda Sleeve - will do a undersleeve. I was also asked if I can post some pictures and will - haven't worked on since I cut is out. Trying to finish orders before our first Event of the season. Will try to work on it today - I also have a wrapper I started a couple of years ago and have figure how to finish it off and will do that today - if I get it done I will take a picture of finished wrapper.

I need to sew for me myself and I.

Sewing Projects

by Judith Robinson on 05/18/10

I decided to take some time and sew for me myself. I am always sewing for someone else and wanted a new Sheer dress for our event at Ft Knox in Maine in July. I pulled out some sheer fabric that I have been saving and went to it. I had bought the sheer dress pattern with bishop sleeves by Past Patterns at the Conference and decided to use that. A friend came over to help fit the lining to me since that is always the hardest thing to do. We got that done and I cut out the bodice and the skirt. Realized I didn't have enough to do the Bishop sleeves from the pattern. One nice thing about Past Patterns you can interchange the sleeves.

How many of you use weights to hold your fabric while cutting?? I have been useing weights you buy in the fabric store for many, many years. Well has anyone ever heard of a Sewing Brick??
